A folk art that was drawn on floors. Now on a blouse. Mandana is a traditional art form from Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh — geometric patterns drawn on walls and floors during festivals, always in red on white, always by hand. The Mandana blouse borrows that language directly. Large, bold motifs on cream, each pressed onto the fabric with a carved wooden block.

The motifs are generous — not scattered lightly but placed with intention, each one given room to be seen properly. The result is a blouse that carries a specific cultural memory without needing to explain it. Designed for the Indian woman's body, cut to wear as easily with a skirt as with a saree.

Printed by neurodivergent adults trained in the craft of hand block printing — for whom this kind of deliberate, repeating work is both a skill and a source of earned income. For the woman who wears her references well.
